Since reading Mark Kurlansky’s Salt: A History of the World, this has been on my “must-see” list. One day. It’s in Poland, which is kind of just over there for us.

Sabine, I seent it! In fact, below is a blurry candid of me, briefly Poland’s Tallest Tourist®, under the same salt chandelier from the opposite angle, standing on a floor that’s - you guessed it - also salt.

The entire mine is incredible, medicinal even, particularly this, The Saint Kinga’s Chapel, most ornate of some two-dozen chambers visitors amble through on the tour. 

I highly recommend it to anyone Krakow-bound on leisure. I also highly recommend packing a camera kit up to snuff in very low light:
