"Insurance executives don’t do this because they’re bad people; they do it because it’s profitable."

President Obama, to which Sean Hannity just said that Obama went to far when he said insurance executives were bad people. WTF???????? (via biteofpythias with some clean-up)

This is a precocious-child type manipulation by grown-man Hannity. He’s treating “they’re bad people” as if Obama considers it a true premise independent of - and irrelevant to - the undesirable outcomes of health insurance profit motives.

Hannity’s purported interpretation of Obama’s meaning is:

“Insurance executives are bad people. Stop. Next thought: they manipulate clients not because of their badness, rather it’s good for the bottom line.”

When Obama’s actual intent was closer to:

“Insurance executives are not bad people. Despite this…”
