1. When I wrote some time ago about the mismarketing of André Balazs’ William Beaver House, the full extent of the financial crisis hadn’t yet been revealed, nor the tower’s facade. Here it is in all its faux-gold-on-black glory. I imagine the eccentrically styled,  bachelor pad/pied-a-terre market has further deteriorated since. I’m curious about the occupancy in a not-quite-enough-to-Google-it way.
Incidentally, I overheard this gem from a passerby to his companion around the time of this photo: “Whoever built this monstrosity of a building should be slapped.”
